Book now for free family tours, with an eerie twist, inside historic Kinneil House this Saturday afternoon, 28 October. The return of this popular Hallowe’en-themed event is being organised by the Friends of Kinneil volunteers, in association with Historic Environment Scotland.

Children are being invited to come in fancy dress, with book tokens on offer as prizes for the best three outfits, and can also take part in a free Hallowe’en activity in Kinneil Museum.
There will be two house tours, the first at 1.30pm and the second at 2.30pm, each lasting around 45 minutes, and featuring some of the stories of Kinneil House and Estate, including spooky tales. All ages welcome. Will you spot Kinneil’s ‘White Lady’ ghost and then be able to dash after her?
Online booking is essential to reserve the free places on the house tours – numbers are restricted to 25 people per tour. To book tickets, please follow the booking link here. There’s no need to bring the ticket, just make sure you’ve told us you’re attending, and do not attend if you haven’t booked.
Booking is not needed for the activity in Kinneil Museum (itself open free), nor to take part in the free fancy dress contest, so come along even if you’re not booked on the house tours – you might even still see the White Lady shimmering around the grounds! The museum activity is hosted in association with Falkirk Council’s museums service and venue staff.

Ian Shearer, Chairman of the Friends of Kinneil, said: “Generations of Bo’ness schoolchildren have known the tale of Kinneil House’s ‘White Lady’ ghost.

“Poor Lady Lilbourne… died in the Gil Burn – so goes the legend that the unhappy wife of a 17th-Century Cromwellian general supposedly fell from a top-floor window of the house.
“Come along to the free tour and activities this Saturday afternoon, as part of the Hallowe’en weekend, to find out more – perhaps there may even be a sighting of the ghost and a ‘White Lady Dash’ to run after her!”
Please check the Friends of Kinneil Facebook page before coming, for any updates about the event.
